SrMphoto said: I feel that the Z 24-70 f/2.8 S lens is slightly better than the Z f/4 lens. I agree with Jim Kasson's conclusions: "Again, the fast lens looks very good. For the money, the kit lens is outstanding." IMHO that is a very good review for the optical comparison - it does certainly point out how good the kit lens is.
Nikon's first built-for-mirrorless pro zoom lens, the Nikkor Z 70-200mm F2.8 VR S ($2,599.95), is an important one. A quality telezoom is an almost required tool for event photography and reportage.
The Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-70 f2.8 S’s hefty price is further justified by the lens’ ability to produce vibrant yet color-accurate images, the consistent sharpness throughout its focal range, and
The f2.8 is terrific, amazing, and heavy. Then I (added) purchased the Z24-200 for weight, length, and travel. The Z24-200 is probably the best super zoom on the market. It is almost (so close) to the image quality of the Z24-70 f4 in the 24-70 range that in my opinion a better choice.
This new Z-mount lens is a million miles from the giant 24-70mm f/2.8 F-mount lenses for Nikon’s DSLR cameras. The Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/4 S has the same zoom range as these monsters, but is much smaller and lighter. Update: We've just posted our Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S review. The Nikon Z 28-75 mm F2.8 is slightly (65 grams) heavier than the 24-70 mm F4 S. It is also more than three centimeters longer, but slightly slimmer than the 24-70 mm F4 S. The filter size of the Nikon Z 28-75 mm F2.8 is slightly smaller, 67mm instead of 72mm. The price is almost the same.

This Z 24-120mm is a marvelous general-purpose lens. It's super-sharp, handles well, is reasonably priced and covers a perfect range for just about everything. I prefer it over either of the Z 24-70/2.8 or Z 24-70/4 because it zooms almost twice as far. Personally I prefer the Z 24-200mm VR over all of these because it zooms almost twice as far
